TechnologiesTechnologies is an interdisciplinary domain that focuses on providing the students with the tools to transform their learning and to enrich their learning environment.
In the Victorian Curriculum F–10, the Technologies includes Design and Technology and Digital Technologies. The Technologies provide a framework for students to learn how to use technologies to create innovative solutions that meet current and future needs. Students are encouraged to make decisions about the development and use of technologies, considering the impacts of technological change and how technologies may contribute to a sustainable future. The curriculum provides practical opportunities for students to be users, designers and producers of new technologies. In Design and Technologies, students use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce designed solutions. In Digital Technologies, students use computational thinking and information systems to analyse, design and develop digital solutions. http://victoriancurriculum.vcaa.vic.edu.au/technologies/introduction/about-the-technologies technologies in the Learning EnvironmentAt Our Lady Help of Christians all students have a one hour Technologies session per week in the computer lab, using Apple iMacs and MacBook Pro computers to learn specific skills to be able to use technology.
Teachers integrate technology into their teaching and learning in the classroom. MacBooks and iPads are used by students as part of their daily learning. All learning spaces have SMARTBoards installed to create an interactive, enriched learning environment for students. |
