Mathematics
Foundation to Level 2
At this level students are encouraged to be active participants in their numeracy learning through hands-on exploration and investigation. We provide structured, purposeful real-life experiences that take into account student differences in readiness, interest and learning needs. We provide explicit teaching in counting, place value, basic number facts, shape and measurement.

Levels 3 - 6
Students in these levels are building on their skills. They are given opportunities to fully grasp concepts. They are exposed to a variety of tasks and meaningful activities in order to gain confidence as mathematicians. Learning number skills is a priority so they can be applied to solve more complex maths tasks. Children are encouraged to take risks and share methods of coming up with solutions to problems. Learnt strategies are then adapted to everyday events, as the students become independent learners.
